oh, canada.. again
tomorrow i travel to toronto, ontario for a work trip. thankfully, i'm much more prepared for the weather than i was last year..

viva lost wages
i was in las vegas this week! although it wasn't a pleasure trip, it did mark my very last trade show of the summer season, so i am happy about that :] (to recap, since june i have been to dallas, chicago, san francisco, new york, and finally vegas)
here are some photos from the trip:
about a year ago, i posted about trade shows, what they are, and why i have to go to them. the short story, in case you don't want to read through that again, is that the company i work for sells products to retailers (stores you buy stuff from). the way they find our products is by attending industry shows. hundreds of wholesalers (what my company is considered) display their products in hopes to sell them to retailers (stores). this show in vegas is pet-specific (SuperZoo), so we had all of our pet products on display for retailers and stores to check out!
because SuperZoo is for all things pet, there are also actual animals on display! i thought this chameleon was super cute
we do get to squeeze in some fun! my little sephora haul [clinique chubby stick in #10 bountiful blush; sephora bronzer in los cabos; sephora concealer in 05 porcelain; tweezerman travel nail file]
i'm thinking this may be a new look for lilly.. except she'd have pink accents :)
our neighbor. the girls in the booth next to us brought their puppy, which made me miss mine so much!

bright lights, big city
i leave for new york today! it's a work/hanging out and watching my brother trip. the weather has been pretty similar to long beach, temperature wise. but there's always more humidity in NY, so i'm not looking forward to that so much.
i'm back on wednesday, and i'll have a wedding wednesday for you upon my return!

vegas recap
i got back from vegas on thursday, and wanted to share some fun photos with you guys!
i was there for an industry trade show - here's what our booth looked like:
a little smaller than the new york booths.. haha!
since it was a pet industry show, there were some interesting things to see..
v and i strolled the strip after the show..
v and i each got one of those really big drinks you see all over the strip! i had never had one before, so i was very excited!

trade show 101
so last month, i was in new york for a couple of weeks to work at the New York International Gift Fair.
to be quick, this trade show is for wholesalers to display their products for buyers who work at retail stores and decide what product to bring into their stores. it's kind of like working at a regular retail store - you greet people, help them write orders, answer any questions they have..
hopefully most of you are familiar with the company i work for, but at ore' we have 3 lines - SugarBooger for children, Ore' Pet, and Living Goods.
we display our stuff in two sections of the trade show. there is a special section that is only for baby & children items, so we have one booth there. in this booth, we only display SugarBooger - this is my favorite booth to work and it's where i was during most of the show.
our second booth is upstairs in a section called 'general gift.' in this booth, we have items from all 3 of our lines.
although they are long days and can be very exhausting, working at the trade show can be fun. it's a nice break from sitting in the office, and it is kind of nice to deal with people face-to-face - if they're nice people that is. the most exciting part about these shows is all the new customers that find us! it's awesome to see their face light up as they say, "your stuff is so cute!"
after the trade show is over and we all fly back home and get back to the office, it's my job to start processing all of the orders we wrote. this can be more work than actually being at the trade show!
but don't feel left out - you can see all our products on our website!
