here is the outfit i wore to celebrate christmas aka jesus' birthday aka present day:

i had originally planned to add a scarf and jean jacket, which would have been super cute and cozy, but it was 73 degrees in long beach on christmas morning, and i didn't want to be melting like a snowman in the sun!

here's my sexy fiance's outfit:

his sweatshirt came off shortly after we got to my parent's house..

thanksgiving is always a hard day to dress for because:

a) you want to look nice & cute
but
b) you want to be comfortable so that you can stuff your face full of food!

for turkey day, we were with our friends matt & carmella and carmella's parents. there was good food, great conversation, and exciting talk of the future!

now that it's almost december, we've started pulling out our christmas decorations slowly but surely..

i can't wait to get out our tree this weeked! : ]

i know i suck at doing these, but here's a 'what i wore' for you all to enjoy on this wonderful wednesday!

so, i cannot quite explain to you all how excited i was when i finally coordinated an outfit that revolves around this scarf i bought from forever 21!

and yes, i know the first picture looks creepy. lol.

ready for some weekend maxi dress fun?!?!

what you see here, ladies & gentlemen, is my very first maxi dress! i had been wanting to get one for a while, since they're the trend this summer, but most of the ones i had seen were prints. my issue with this was that since i was a maxi-dress-virgin, i didn't want to be one huge walking print or pattern. so i kept checking forever 21 and they finally posted this cute, non-print maxi dress! the length is a touch long, so for me it's probably best worn with wedges, but i didn't feel like being a giant that day! i love the orange floral embroidery on top and the netted accents around the neckline!

since the dress itself is a statement, i kept the accessories low-key with a green-ish cuff (also from forever 21, which later turned my wrist green) and some red strappy sandals for an accent.

what i wore

my new obsession: this lace top from forever 21! seriously, this top cost $11.50 and instantly became my favorite thing in my entire wardrobe.

i chose a white tank to layer underneath (i can't wait to try it with black!) and a jean jacket for when i got cold, although i didn't wear it for most of the day - which was fine since i wanted to show off my new shirt!

my other favorite part of this outfit is my shoes! i wish i had taken a better picture of them, since they could pass as flats, but they're actually wedges. i'd say they're about a 4 inch heel with maybe a 1 inch platform. but they are seriously so comfortable! i found them randomly at target and had to get them. i recently saw them there in brown also.

i recently got some other goodies from f21, so i'm sure they'll be popping up in future WIW posts!

what i wore

goooood morning my pretties!

today i wanted to get a little dressy for work, and you know what that means: blazer, baby!

to be honest, the inspiration for this outfit came from the necklace. i glanced to where i keep my necklaces and bracelets, and saw this strand of (fake) pearls i had bought in december and thought to myself, 'why have i never worn those?'

so the next morning i woke up, threw them on, and created an outfit!

this blazer used to be one of my favorite pieces, but i kind of burned it out about 8 months ago; so pulling it out again after so long was nice. one of the things i love is the floral lining - it adds a girly touch and makes it a more interesting jacket.

i paired it with a blue shirt because i'm boring, but i like the way it made my necklace pop. i also added red strappy sandals for a funky touch.

*disclaimer: please excuse my green nails. i know they look hideous with this outfit!

guess you can tell where i shop at the most.. i swear 75% of the things in my closet are for forever 21. can't beat their prices though..

what i wore

happy friday to all!

it's time for another:

this morning i actually put a little effort into my styling:

my outfit is very simple: a white ruffled shirt, jeans, and black flats.
i paired this with a penny farthing necklace (which reminds me of my dad) and a floral puff clip-thing from forever 21. and *gasp* i actually styled my hair this morning! i did a side bun and stuck the floral clip on it. i even braided my bangs on the opposite side and integrated it into the rest of my hair with a twist. maybe my hair is the reason i was 15 minutes late for work..

my last accessory was my tiffany somerset ring. it is by far my favorite piece of jewelry. randy got it for me on my last birthday, and i feel naked if i go a day without wearing it.

overall, my outfit is very comfy - i can thank the over sized shirt for that! but, the accessories and hairstyle help make it look more put-together instead of just thrown-on.

new series: what i wore

the good news is, it's friday!

the other good news is that i'm going to start a new series: what i wore!

i don't really know how to describe my style;

i like comfy clothes - i need to be comfortable or else i ain't wearin' it!

i tend to buy a lot of plain clothes aka no patterns. i've been trying to get better about this.

to me, creating an outfit is about the layers you use. i will rarely just wear jeans and a tshirt. i need a sweater or some jewelry or some flashy shoes.

speaking of..

(i'm a bit of a cheater, because i wore this outfit last friday)

i usually dress pretty casually for work, and this outfit is no exception.
without jazzing it up, it would be very bo-ring.
so i added my all-time favorite sweater that i got on sale @ pacsun along with a necklace i just got from f21.
i also wore a lace-lined white tank underneath and let it show for some contrast & a touch of girly-ness.
the 'flare' of this outfit definitely comes from my black glitter faux-toms that i bought @ tilly's the other day. i couldn't resist!

the best part: the whole outfit couldn't have cost me more than $52!
